ERA NEXGEN — Building a Pathway for the Future

A Forum For Emerging Industry Leaders

ERA’s Next Generation (NEXGEN) Special Interest Group provides a forum where next-generation employees can meet, share ideas with one another and collaborate with ERA. These employees may have different questions, concerns and suggestions for the industry than their more senior colleagues.

Please note: the rep firm owner must complete the nomination form to formally nominate a NEXGEN candidate.

NEXGEN Candidate Profile

The nominated individual must be:

  • An employee of an ERA manufacturers’ representative company member. Their role may be inside or outside sales, customer service, distribution coordination, manufacturer liaison, product specialist, marketing, CRM management, commission reconciliation or a related function.
  • Interested in networking with other next-generation rep members and discussing business-life and work-life topics.
  • Willing to share ideas for improvement or change in the rep business model.
  • Available to meet virtually on a quarterly basis and contribute to focused discussions on best practices, shared ideas and strategies.
  • Able to meet in person, when possible and approved, at the annual ERA Conference, EDS, local trade shows and other industry events.
  • Willing to present in person or virtually at the annual ERA Executive Committee meeting when asked.
  • Able to set an agenda for every meeting with goals and deliverables, with collaborative results shared with ERA representatives nationwide.

Build Connections And Share Ideas

This emerging talent pool has shown a creative, new and dynamic approach to the manufacturers’ representative sales model. The tools, communications and expectations of the industry are changing, and NEXGEN provides a place to share insight and encourage collaboration. Results are shared with ERA members.

ERA’s goal is to connect emerging talent with this nationwide group. NEXGEN serves as an onboarding resource that cross-feeds ideas to help the industry grow in a vibrant, progressive way.

ERA Executive Committee members Cameron English, CPMR, SVP Industry, and Ellen Coan, CPMR, SVP Education, oversee this group.
